It seems like the school year is just flying by. I hope you are please with how your child is progressing.
I would first like to thank everyone that made our Boo at Birch party a huge success. The kids seemed to have a great time and enjoyed all of the tasty treats that were sent in. The PTA will be contacting those of you that were interested to help with the winter party.
In your child's folder you should have found a slip of paper for Spirit Week this week. Your child is encouraged to dress up accordingly each day. We will also be collecting change for the Diabetes Association.
If anyone is able to donate dixi cups they would be greatly appreciated.
As always please contact me if you have any questions or concerns!

20 Plus Days and Counting
It is hard to believe we have been in Kindergarten for over 20 days! I have had the pleasure to see your child grow and develop so much already. Your October calendar should be coming home midweek. This is a great resources to keep you updated on what we are doing in the classroom.
We have already learned 9 letters, 4 sight words, practiced with identifying character and setting, focused on number 1 - 10, and practices with the sense of taste.
This week you will be receiving some math games. These do not need to be returned to school. These are games we have been playing at school. You can use these to reinforce what we have been doing in the classroom.

September Update
I hope you all had a relaxing long weekend! As we progress back into the swing of school there are a couple updates I would like to share with you.
1) Your child should have brought home their September Reading Board. Each night you read 10 minutes or more with your child you can color the apple. You can return the completed form to school at the end of September.
2) I sent the first homework assignment home tonight. Homework will be coming home 2-3 times a week. Please have your child complete and return to school.
Have a wonderful week!

Day 2 and Counting....
We have officially made it through 2 days of kindergarten! It has been a great start to the school year. I hope your child is enjoying the kindergarten experience thus far. I have just a few reminders as we make it through the first week.
1) Please make sure your child brings their orange name tag with their transportation code on it daily. It is important to help myself and and other staff members to help get them on the correct bus.
2) If you have not already completed and returned your Child Information Sheet, please take a few moments to return to school by Friday.
As always, do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

It has been way too long since I last blogged. Hopefully many of you received my newsletter that went home earlier this week. With all the snow days things got a little out out of whack and January and February calendars didn't make it home. I wanted to keep you up to date with things going on in the classroom.
